Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM)
Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) The Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) is an interdisciplinary 39-credit program open to graduates from architecture, engineering, and construction-related programs. The curriculum aims to broaden educational and career options for students. Formal knowledge and experience in project and construction management are highly sought after by architectural and engineering firms, construction companies, and real estate developers. The construction management sector is wide-spread and diverse, with its employees working all over the country in fields ranging from scientific and technical services to public administration and safety. Program Description The MSCM program under the Open University System prepares students for the operational, supervisory, and managerial opportunities in the construction industry. Its training for the students focuses on exposure to the key elements of management, methods, requirements, ethics, legal aspects of construction, and developmental aspects of the design process. In addition, learners gain focused knowledge and specialized skills on current industry trends, productivity tools, and techniques, allowing them to apply what they have obtained from their courses to the current situations of their working environment to continuously enhance their overall competitiveness as professionals and entrepreneurs towards national productivity. The Master of Arts in Communication major in Communication Management (MACM) of the PUP Open University System offers open and distance learning, equivalency, and accreditation schemes. This responds to the growing demand for a more innovative, creative, and skills-oriented curricular program steeped in research technology, culture, and management. It addresses the need for a more balanced Philippine communication ecosystem by preparing communication managers and decision-makers to be more attuned to the challenges of information society and global competition. Program Description The Master of Arts in Communication with a Major in Communication Management provides the tools and the skills required to plan, develop and implement communication strategies adapted to different cultural and socio-political environments. Master in Education Management (MEM)
Master in Education Management (MEM) The International Symposium on Education Policies, hosted by the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), discussed implementing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all), including how countries can align their policies with the Education 2030 Framework for Action and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The report, however, on school leadership underscored ‘Leading Better Learning: School Leadership and Quality in the Education 2030 Agenda,’ which recommends prioritizing leadership by head teachers and those with institutional-level responsibility in the 2030 Agenda. With the release of CMO No. 15, s. 2019, it offers a new landscape of graduate education programs, particularly integrating pertinent provisions of RA No. 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994," in pursuance of an outcome-based quality assurance system, in alignment with the Philippine Qualifications Framework, and by virtue of Referendum No. R070-2019 dated December 19, 2019, where the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) adopts and promulgates the set of policies, standards, and guidelines for graduate programs in the country. As a result, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, College of Education-Graduate Studies, leads in the promotion of "Empowering Educational Leaders to Achieve Excellence in the Management of Teacher Education Institutions across Elementary, Secondary, and Higher Education Institutions of Learning as its contribution to the university's vision of becoming a National Polytechnic University. The Master in Education Management (MEM) program articulates PQF level 7, institutional learning outcomes, program educational outcomes, and program outcomes as set forth in CMO # 15, s. 2019, along with the inclusion of program indicators identifying what the graduates of the program are expected to accomplish after finishing MEM with specializations. Program Description The MEM Program is an academic, research-based degree program designed to produce highly skilled, globally responsive, competent educational managers, leaders, and instructional specialists who are interested in pursuing academic excellence, advancing research, and promoting a global culture of sharing with school leaders at all levels of education. Program Description The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program uses an approach that integrates key ideas from information technology, systems management, and decision science. Through this integrated approach, students gain a firm understanding of and appreciation for the power of information and the systems created to supply and manage it. Advanced problem-solving skills (e.g., business analysis, process engineering, systems correctness, and performance) are emphasized throughout the program, which includes object-oriented analysis, comparative methods in software engineering, telecommunications, project management, client-server architectures, strategic planning, and database theories. Program Learning Outcomes Create, evaluate, and administer computer-based systems that are globally competitive in terms of quality and price; Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills to evaluating existing technology and creating new software applications.
