Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Information Technology (PBDIT) The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Information Technology (PBDIT) works to hone non-computing degree graduates with all of the necessary skills to prepare them for existing and emerging jobs and careers in a technology - driven economy. The program is designed specifically for professionals who wish to integrate ICT into their respective disciplines or those who would like to shift careers into the technology field. The curricular revision aims to update the post-baccalaureate program, initially offered in 1987 under the then College of Computer Management and Information Technology (CCMIT), now known as the College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), and beginning in 1998 under the PUP Open University System (OUS), with emerging trends, practices, and developments in the highly dynamic and fast-paced environment of ICT. The last curriculum revision made for the program was in 2009 which includes a change of name from Post-Baccalaureate in Computer Technology to its current title as well as a revision in course codes and course descriptions. Program Description The one-year PBDIT program aims to equip students from non-computing degree programs with the knowledge and skills appropriate for critical analysis of complex problems and creative design of solutions through application of modern tools and resources that address the demands of local and global work settings in an ICT-driven economy. Further, it strengthens students’ ability to aid in the integration and innovation of ICT-related services by fulfillment of social and ethical responsibilities which employ effective communication and engagement in independent learning necessary for continual professional development and growth.
