How to Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication for PUP Webmail
This guide walks you through setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your PUP Webmail.
Note: We recommend setting up both options. This ensures you have a backup method to access your account.
OPTION 1: MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATOR USING MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR APP
Step 1. Open a browser on your computer and go to https://aka.ms/setupsecurityinfo. Sign in to your PUP Webmail account using your password. You should see the screen shown in the picture.

Step 2. Choose Add sign-in method. A small window will appear; select Microsoft Authenticator.

Step 3. After you pick Microsoft Authenticator, your browser will show a specific screen. Click Next.

Step 4. On your phone, go to the App Store (for iPhones) or Google Play Store (for Androids) and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Step 5. After installing Microsoft Authenticator on your phone, click Next in your browser.

Step 6. After you click Next, your browser will show a page with a QR code.

Go back to your newly installed Microsoft Authenticator app, which should look exactly like the picture. Choose Scan a QR Code and use it to scan the QR code on your browser. This will automatically connect your account to Microsoft Authenticator.

The app should now show your Microsoft account, as seen in the picture below. Go back to your browser and click Next.

Step 7. Once it is successfully connected, your browser will show a code to test the connection.

Step 8. A notification, like the one shown, will appear in your Microsoft Authenticator app, asking for a code. Just type in the code shown in your browser and choose Yes.

Step 9. A "Notification approved" message should pop up. Then, click Next.

A similar notification should also appear in your browser, confirming the app was successfully set up.

Step 10. Once finished, your Security Info should show you all the sign-in method you are currently using. With the default sign-in method highlighted at the top.
Important Reminder: Do not uninstall the Microsoft Authenticator app from your phone. To help us better protect your PUP Webmail account, please immediately report any lost devices where your account is signed in. Select IT Security-Related Service in PUP SINTA.

OPTION 2: MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATOR USING ONE-TIME PASSWORD (OTP)
Step 1. Open a browser on your computer and go to https://aka.ms/setupsecurityinfo. Sign in to your PUP Webmail account using your password. You should see the screen shown in the picture.

Step 2. Choose Add sign-in method. A small window will appear; select Phone.

Step 3. After picking Phone, the page will change. Simply type an active phone number into the box and choose either Receive a code or Call me. Then, click Next.

Step 4. If you chose Receive a code, a code will be sent to the phone number you put in.

Step 5. Once you get the code, your browser will show a screen asking you to type in the code you received.

Step 6. After you type in the code, a "successful" message will pop up in your browser. Click Next to keep going.

A confirmation message, showing the phone number you entered, will then appear. Click Done, and you're all set!
Important Reminder: Always keep the phone number linked to your PUP Webmail account updated.
