  • Doctor of Philosophy in Communication (PhD Com)

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Economics (PhD Econ)

  • PhD in English Language Studies (PhD ELS)

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Filipino (PhD Fil)

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD Psy)

Admission Prerequisite

A student who wishes to be admitted to a doctorate degree program must comply with the following prerequisites:

  • Holder of an appropriate master's degree (with thesis) from a university or college of recognized standing. If the master's degree is in another field, the applicant has to make up for deficiencies by taking pre-degree (master's) courses prescribed in the relevant program of study at this university.

  • Qualify for the admissions exam.

  • Pass the interview with the Program Chair and/or the Dean

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of work experience

Application/admission requirements for the Doctorate Degree Program

  1. Letter of Intent (addressed to the Dean of the Graduate School)

  2. Filled-up Recommendation for admission (to be accomplished by the immediate supervisor or head of the office, click here to download the form)

  3. Downloaded and signed GSEE Application Form, attached with a 2”x 2” colored photo that you uploaded during the online application.

  4. The original and photocopied CTC Transcript of Records (from the last school attended)

  5. The original and photocopied of PSA Birth Certificate

  6. The original and photocopied of PSA Certificate of Marriage (for married female applicants only)

  7. A printed copy of the downloaded Payment Voucher

Note: For verification purposes, please bring the original copies of Transcript of Records, Birth Certificate, and Certificate of Marriage.

Additional Requirements for Exam Passers

Original copy of the following:

  1. Certificate of Employment or Service Record

  2. NBI, Police or Barangay Clearance

  3. Medical Certificate

What to submit during enrollment

Applicants who meet all the prerequisites for admission in the degree program and have applied for and passed the interviews by the Program Chair and/or the Dean shall submit to the School Registrar the following documents:

  1. Printed copy of downloaded Admission Record (with a 2”x 2” colored photo taken recently with a white background and in a formal pose)

  2. Downloaded Pre-Registration Form

  3. Downloaded printed, and signed Undertaking

  4. Honorable Dismissal/Certificate of Transfer Credential

  5. Original Transcript of Records of the highest degree earned from the school last attended (TOR with the remarks “Copy for PUP Graduate School” shall be submitted within the semester)
